I am sorry to hear about the death of your grandfather and I connected to your trip to Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane where my grandmother Bessie Copeland was treated for a heart attck many years ago. My son, Mike, and I drove by Sacred Heart which is not far from Lewis & Clark High School, my alma mata, when I was in Spokane 2 years ago for the funeral of my father, Philip Zarkin. I have fond memories of Walla Walla (Danny Kaye makes a reference to WW in a song). Republic Pictures immortalized the town in "The Wacky WAC from Walla Walla" with Judy Canova and Andy Devine. Didn't really have much to do with Walla Walla.
